Pros and Cons of Moving While Pregnant

So, we just got done with our move a couple weeks ago. And we're really feeling at home here and love the new place. I'll have to post pictures soon. But I thought I'd make up a list of the good and the bad of the moving process.

To kind of give a background, my mom and I came up a couple days earlier then the boys to get the place cleaned. That way, when the muscles got here, we could just move everything in! The place wasn't as clean as I thought it was going to be when we arrived, but luckily the rental company sent some people back over to clean and re-did the carpets. So much better!

Cons:
  • As much as I thought I could help, I just got way too tired. Also, I just can't bend over and move the way that I wanted to. Note: I was 35 weeks pregnant when we moved, I'm now 37...whoop!
  •  The stress of finding a filthy apartment waiting for me wore me out! I knew some cleaning would need to be done, but we wasted half a day dealing with getting it cleaned like it should have been done in the first place.
  • This is more of summer specific one, but the heat and being on my feet all day made my feet/ankles so swollen!

Pros:
  • It's kind of the best way to nest, you start from scratch and everything is clean! Then you get to organize everything the way you want.
  • You get lots of help since it's pretty obvious that you are useless.
  • Everything gets done at once, for us, it wasn't a drawn out process and we were completely done and settled in a few days.

So it's not that extensive of a list. But, if we had to do it all over again...I would opt out of moving while this far along. Even if it had been a few weeks earlier I think I would have been able to do more. It's all done though and we are really happy with the new place. The baby's room is all ready to go. I'll have to take pictures soon. Bags are pretty much packed. I know it could be another month, but it could also be any day now too. It's kind of weird to think of it that way.
